This is a fantastic 1956 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone. It's an original lacquer euro engraved horn with 80%+ remaining. It's sitting right now on a combination of slightly older and newer pads all with metal resonators, and its been consistently regulated and seals and plays top to bottom with ease. This will need no work whatsoever and is in top playing condition.
Physically, this tenor is in phenomenal condition. No resolders, and only a few tiny dings near the bottom bow. No previous repairs or damage and it looks fantastic considering its age.
On the darker side of the spectrum in my opinion, but still has a crisp edge and powerful presence that these early 5 digit tenors are known for. This tenor comes with the original neck as well as a Peter Ponzol neck. (See the collage of neck pictures to view this area).
The other neck included, the Ponzol neck, is in great shape with very minor wear. It adds a slight extra edge to the overall presence of the horn and plays slightly brighter than the original neck and is perfect for any rock, pop or louder playing scenario. This tenor comes in the original case which is in good shape for its age. Some fraying and cracking in the leather, and it is missing the clarinet case insert but it functions perfectly and all latches work perfectly as well.
