Vintage 1969 Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone w/ Case A Beautiful Great One Owner Horn! This One owner 1969 Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone is a Great Horn! The owner had just gotten into a top band that was gigging every weekend and wanted a horn for a lifetime. He played half a dozen horns and with the help of his teacher picked this one. Fast forward 52 years and he's decided it's time to put this beautiful horn into a new players hands and allow it to keep making music.
The horn has had many repads over its lifetime. It has never been re-lacquered. At the last overhaul, he had what little lacquer was left on the horn removed and had the technician lightly polish the horn. The polishing was very light and didn't effect the gorgeous engraving or any other part of the horn.
The serial number is 169346. Now for the best part... This horn is a monster!! An amazing sax with a very rich and full tone. The low end is throaty and it growls if you want it to, or back off a bit and it has the sweetest sound ever.The presence is evident through all the registers with a smooth and bright presentation. The action is smooth, the keys are tight and the neck is original to the horn and has never been damaged. The horn has Roo pads which compliment this instrument perfectly. The case is original to the horn and is solid but shows 52 years of gigs. This is a Great Mark VI it will bring many years of fabulous sound and happiness to its new owner. Original VI's are getting harder and harder to find and one that sounds like this is few and far between.
