Nikkan(YAMAHA) Imperiale Tenor Vintage Stock Condition

Japanese first professional Tenor saxophone. Overall Key Balance Adjusted, Ready to Play. SN# 904183 (manufactured in 1966).

This instrument is the finest "Imperial" tenor saxophone made by NIKKAN in the late 1960s before the name was changed to Yamaha YTS-61. Japanese musical instruments (Yamaha), which had been successful in organ, piano, and school teaching instruments by the 1960s, acquired "Japanese wind instruments(Nippon Kan-Gakki: Nikkan) " in Oimachi, Saitama Prefecture, which was founded in the 1890s and boasts the oldest history in Japan. The advanced model was changed to the YAMAHA brand. "NIKKAN IMPERIALE Sax" is a model developed using Japanese wind craftsmanship and technology, and is the prototype of the world's Yamaha Saxophone inherited by the modern YTS-8xx series. Careful making in the handmade era such as One Piece Low Key Guard that continued until YTS-61, YTS-62 and Direct Post Soldering without using a washer sound wonderfully with the resonance of the horn that cannot be obtained with modern saxophone.
