Rare Selmer 1948 Super (Balanced) Action Tenor Saxophone SBA ToneX Resonators

For your consideration is a vintage Selmer Super Action Tenor Saxophone which still has the original Selmer ToneX resonators. The serial number is 35xxx, which according to some Selmer serial charts date the saxophone to 1948 as the year of production. This is an extremely rare transitional SBA as it has the longer bell which later became standardized around the 37k-38k serial range. The intonation issues, with the tendency to play sharp around the bell keys that the earlier Super Action tenors had, was resolved with the longer bell model. The saxophone is in great shape with no dents that I can see, there is evidence of past minor dent repair work around the bow area, but the repair was done extremely well. The engraving is beautiful and the original neck is in great shape with no visible signs of pull-down. This Super Balanced Action is in optimal playing shape as it was overhauled and restored at one of the premier saxophone shops (Tenor Madness) after being found stored in an attic for decades.
