Vintage 1977 Selmer Paris Mark VII Tenor Saxophone In Original Case S. N. 274472

Vintage 1977 Selmer Paris Mark VII Tenor Saxophone. This is the GREAT Mark VII Model.

Very good condition with all of the beautiful original lacquer intact, and no surface wear on the usual touch spots. There are very few and only minor blemishes in the lacquer finish, and. A couple minor pings here and there. That can be seen in the photos.

The serial number places production in 1977 just a few short years after the last Mark VI's came off the assembly line this horn is a. European Selmer Mark VII tenor with no engravings. There are no previous owners, no repairs, no resoldering, no damage ever to her. Never polished with any chemical polish etc.

Ever only a lint free dust towel. The neck is original, the pads are original and still in perfect condition and the sax plays well as is. This horn was not used much. Original mouthpiece cork is like new.

Mouthpiece, mouthpiece cover, extra reeds included. Riginal case, with working locks.

Note repair to right hand lock and slight wear to case in the pictures. Also not shown 1- metal/silver sheet. Lyre from our old tenor used when we marched. This sax is a true survivor and plays very good as is. Great action and wonderful tone; while some may want to have some adjustments made, most players would be fine as is.

The same great sax its always been. Maybe even better now w/ age.

I come from a family of musicians. Growing up, we all had to play a musical instrument; and for my big sister and me, that was the family saxophones that were once played by our Dad. He was born in 1925, and we played the same horns he grew up playing. My sister played both our old Selmer soprano and tenor, and myself only the tenor.

I remember that they were beautiful silver and old and had been in the family forever. We had that old tenor repadded when I started playing in 5. Grade (1976) and by my sophomore year (1981) it was harder to play than it should have been and would no longer stay in tune. Being no dummy, he bought this Selmer Mark VII you see here.

I played my new sax in the jazz band from 9. By this time I already had an electric guitar and after my decision to be a Rock Star, that was it and from then on I only wanted to play things you could turn up to 11. We lived in the desert, and except for the rare occasion when my father broke it out to reminisce after I stopped playing, our barely used Mark VII has sat in the basement for 40 years. The small purely cosmetic things that I would want to know about if I were interested in purchasing this. The horn has some lacquer wear in these places: on one small section of the ring /edge of the bell, and. Only slight surface pitting/blemishes on the low C/Eb key finger pads and on guards as well as some near the serial numbers. There are also a few spots of minor lacquer pitting on the necks' octave vent just above the MK7 stamp. [Please see pictures for all issues listed above].

Small scratches where the neckstrap hook is and o. Ne or two tiny tiny dings on the inside body of the horn where it kissed my chair in band class. NONE of these affect the sound of this horn at all.

That's the story of this GORGEOUS Classic Selmer Mark VII tenor saxophone. She is to this day a g. Reat sounding horn (at least as great as I can make it sound with my lip that hasnt played a sax for 40 years).

From low Bb to high F#. Ok, maybe only to high E for me since I cant hit that high F# anymore wink wink. She aint perfect but shes pretty damn close! Pictures pretty much tell the rest of the tale but if you have questions, dont hesitate to contact me.

She is in beautiful condition, looks great and sounds great and is ready to play. I would love to see this beauty go to a good home where she will begin the next chapter of her journey, and i. F you are seriously looking for a clean, one-owner professional horn, this is most likely the one. Like time-capsule out of a showroom.

Same beautiful finish and sound as the day she was born. Probably worth more but I'm pricing to sell and to not be constantly be relisted. Ground, insured and signature required.
